Barrel-Aged Pure Maple Syrup aged in Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrels

The Story

Our maple syrup is sweeter than Southern hospitality.

Our great grandfather, Pappy Van Winkle taught us that to make the best, you use the best. That's why we grew up using real maple syrup on (and in) our favorite dishes.

When we decided to make our own, we wanted to find a partner that shared our love of hand-crafted, high quality products. We found a perfect match in Bissel Maple Farm. The result is a perfect marriage of craftsmanship and flavor.

Together, we've made a one-of-a-kind syrup bursting with flavors of vanilla, butter, oak and, of course, bourbon. Use in your favorite recipes. Or as a finishing syrup. Even in your favorite cocktails. Just be sure to save a little for those Sunday morning pancakes.

This current batch of pure maple syrup was made with sap harvested from the Bissell's maple Farm in Ohio in the Spring of 2015 and aged 6 months in Van Winkle 10 and 12 year old barrels.

  1. Best Ever

You have to try this maple syrup aged in pappy barrels .. It's the most amazing thing ever.. It's hard not to drink straight from the bottle .. Enjoy

  2. Great flavor! Very sweet. Poorly packaged.

Posted by Bill on 22nd Apr 2016

This has an amazing buttery flavor with vanilla and subtle bourbon notes. Very, very sweet though. Must be used sparingly! After one use, the cork got stuck in the bottle and separated from the plastic top. Be sure to clean any syrup residue off the cork!! Probably won't buy again, but it was worth it to give it a try.

  3. The Very Best

  4. The best thing ever.

Not in the "syrup" category. In the "thing" category -- animal/mineral/vegetable, past present or future, this is #1 and #2 is not even that close behind.

  5. Delicious

The maple syrup is delicious, and goes well with many of my favorite breakfast foods.

  6. Hello Breakfast!

Waffles and hot cakes and even grits, will never be the same.

  7. Bourbon without the buzz!

Posted by Donna-Marie Hayes on 15th Feb 2016

As a teetotaler I love that bourbon and maple syrup flavors mix to give unique tastes to breakfast crepes, roast lamb and appetizers alike. My cousin chef made two dishes within 12 hours of receiving the bottle I sent. Very happy - pricy though.
