Spicy Margarita

A delightfully sweet and spicy twist on our favorite summer cocktail!

Distilled: Summer Sips: Spicy Margarita

It's no secret to anyone who knows us that we love a margarita - it is our go-to cocktail in the summer! While you can't go wrong with a classic margarita, we all have a few go-to recipes we love to give it a surprising twist. In fact, while we were in the process of developing our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Spicy Maple Syrup, one thing we couldn't wait to  try was a spicy version of  our beloved margarita using it!

Sure enough, the combination of our signature Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Pure Maple Syrup infused with the subtly sweet and oaky heat of our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged ghost pepper mash (yes the same ghost peppers responsible for our tried and true pepper sauce) was just the right flavor balance for a delicious and easy spicy margarita with just the right balance of sweet and spicy.

Simple cocktails with easy ingredients are a summer must for us. We find ourselves whipping up spontaneous Pappy Hour cocktails while  together in Harbor Springs, Michigan in the summer, and this spicy margarita has been on constant rotation. The dash of spicy syrup gives it a naturally sweet heat that enhances the flavor of a margarita rather than overwhelm it. We can't wait for you to try it!
